Bloodline was created way back in May 2006 by four inspired (deranged?) players trying create a fun, mature guild that would allow us to carry on our relaxed attitude, but still let us have a go at the end-game instances and raids. Those misguided four were Sentencer, Chalke, Urrilius and (now departed) Primahunk - all formerly of The Seekers of Justice. They spent a good few hours arguing over the name and tabard design (the key to any strong guild ofc) in the Guild Office in Ironforge and finally Bloodpound was born! Then we realised that was one of the many names we'd rejected and one short hour and another 6 random signatures later, Bloodline was born! In May 2007 Clan of the Wolf were invited to merge into Bloodline, this happily came about from discussions between Chunklee of CotW and his friend Truth - a member in BL. Morrigane, as GM of CotW, spent a short while talking to Sentencer (the Bloodline GM at the time) it soon became clear both guilds had the same kind of mandate and hopes for the future - friendship and fun with a serious commitment to progression in the game. Clan of the Wolf were a small fun guild with a strong core membership, but it became clear gaining and keeping numbers was a problem as progress was made toward larger instances, so became a part of Bloodline. The transition was surprisingly smooth and after a short period of polite best behaviour (think that lasted around 6 3/4 mins) we got know each other and pulled together as one guild. I think it's fair to say most are very glad Chunk and Truth had their chat, things are very enjoyable here with something for all types of players, the future looks truly exciting for Bloodline. Now over a year has passed since Bloodline's birth and many people have joined, some have left, although most come back - but overall Bloodline has continued to survive and more recently has flourished into the guild we have today. We raided in UBRS and in ZG before TBC and now we've moved on through the 70's instances to start raiding the Outlands instances. Notable achievements in the guild include Elysium for being the first member of the guild to hit 70 (before his adventures out of Bloodline) and Valcana for being the first ever member to grab a Tier 4 token after we downed Curator for the first time. So here we are, I think we've maintained the light-hearted, fun aspect we hoped to create in the beginning, we have lots of brother/sister/boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/colleague/friend relationships in the guild (although hopefully not all at once!) as well as friendships based purely in the World of Warcraft that have nevertheless lasted a year or more. Our raids are professional, but good humoured with it and our guild chat is as bizarre as ever. A work in progress. by Chalke and Morrigane |
